Finally, bought that Netflix subscription? I feel you! Now, for all you first-timers, I am sharing my personal favorite shows on Netflix right here to make your life easier! Try them out, and I promise you’ll be addicted ;) Happy binge-watching!

1. Bridgerton

If you like the old-fashioned prince and princess concept, I assure you, my dear friend, you are going to love this series! Why? Watch the first episode and see for yourself!

Bridgerton is an American Period drama series that premiered on Netflix on 25th December 2020, having eight episodes of 1 hour each. If you continue to watch this, trust me, you won’t even recognize how fast your day is gonna go by! Which is why I recommend you to watch it when you have a really good amount of free time. (Or if you have some major self-control :))

Overall, I would give Bridgerton a 4.5/5 (Definitely extra points for the cutest lead pair) for its fresh and captivating storyline, capturing the ancient accent of characters well, and the beautiful sets, of course!

2. Emily in Paris

This is the story of an ambitious girl, Emily, working in Chicago who gets hired in Paris by coincidence. Emily in Paris is a Romantic comedy series that premiered on Netflix on 2nd October 2020, having ten episodes of 30 minutes each.

The series takes you on a journey with her from America to France. It explores the different cultures in France, the challenges she faces due to it, and how she tackles them. Also, watch out for some hot guys, you all! (Always a bonus;))

Also, season 2 is officially on its way! I would give this fantastic show a 4/5 for its storyline and for giving me some major travel goals! (Not to mention all the incredible cast)

3. Teen Wolf

If you are someone who fancies anything supernatural, I bet this captivating show is gonna be the one you fall head over heels in love with! Teen Wolf is an American supernatural teen drama series that premiered on Netflix on 5th June 2011, and its final episode release was on 24th September 2017. It has had six seasons, having 100 episodes of 40 minutes each.

Now I know most people would think it’s a huge and time-consuming series — yes, it is. That’s why I gave you all the details at the beginning itself. But If you trust me by now (Assuming you have watched at least an episode of the previous shows in this list), whenever you have a long weekend or an extended holiday, you know what to do!

Teen Wolf follows a story of a teenage boy Scott, who turns into a werewolf after being bitten by one. Scott must learn to adapt to his new identity while handling life as a teenager, including all the mental and physical changes, his relationships around (old and new ones to come), and a whole new world of werewolves!

probably You must have already guessed, but just to put it out there — Teen Wolf tops as my favorite supernatural series, and hence I would give it a 5/5 :)

4. The Originals

The plot follows the life of the Originals (the first-ever original family of vampires — yes, I am a fan of the supernatural world!), focusing on each of them, their different natures, their interpersonal relationships, and their enemies as well.

The Originals is an American fantasy supernatural drama series that premiered on Netflix on 3rd October 2013, and its final episode release was on 1st August 2018. It had five seasons, having 92 episodes of 40 minutes each. It has a super addictive storyline, and there is so much happening in every episode that you can’t explain it to someone else; you have to watch it yourself!

Also, as said a million times in the series already, Vampires are equal to The Originals for me, “Always and Forever.” (If you know, you know ;)) I would give a 4.5/5 to this series. The reason being the captivating storyline, all the characters, and their acting skills that make us believe in the supernatural world as if we live in it!

5. She was Pretty (a K-Drama)

If you are someone who has heard a lot about K-dramas since forever but never watched it, this should be a great one to start with. She Was Pretty is a South Korean Romantic comedy series that premiered on Netflix on 16th September 2015, having 16 episodes of one hour each.

The plot of the series follows the life of a tomboyish girl, Kim Hye-jin, who struggles to find a job and manage her finances when her childhood sweetheart suddenly contacts her and is eventually turned out to be her new boss. Due to her own reasons, she hides her real identity to be able to work under him, and that is when all the fun begins!

Now, many of you may have avoided watching K-dramas simply because we can’t understand their language and then continue reading subtitles eventually gets boring. But trust me, you all; she was Pretty has the power to break your preconceived notion and keep you captivated throughout! (as a bonus, you are going to start understanding few Korean words by the end of it)

I would give this series a 4.5/5 again as I am one of those who loves Korean People, their looks, their completely different world than ours! Also, the series itself has many funny and relatable moments that you can’t stop getting involved and holding back!

On a Wrapping Note

The only downside is to have a valid Netflix subscription to watch these series and a lot of patience and self-control. You can’t binge-watch an entire series having 16 episodes (16 hours of watch time!!) in a single night or two.

Use that expensive subscription well (watching all the Netflix shows mentioned above), and I am sure you’ll thank me later! With that said, which series did you guys could relate to? Which one did you love the most? Let me know all about it by dropping in a message in the comment section below!
